While the numbers 149 and 150 are now famously associated with modern Pacer and Sprinter trains, in this context, they refer to much older unpowered trailer cars built in the late 1950s.

Unpowered Units: These do not have motors. They are designed to be hauled or pushed by a powered Class 121/122 unit. (149 and 150 respectively)

DCC Capability: They feature a 21-pin DCC interface. This allows you to install a decoder to control the interior and directional lighting independently.

Lighting: Equipped with authentic exterior directional lighting (headcodes/tail lights) and fully detailed interior lighting for the passenger saloons and cabs.

A lovely model at a bargain price which, unfortunately, arrived damaged because It was not screwed to the plinth, and had moved inside the box during transit.
What a stunning DMU this is. The detail is incredible and these are truly a beautiful model. More please Heljan! How about a Class 101 or 108 DMU as a follow up?
When the railcar arrived I was very pleased with its overall appearance and quality, however the magnetic sprung buffers were missing from the box. An email to Heljan Support registered the omission to which they responded that they were expecting spares in the near future. Well today I received a package which contained the couplings, well done Heljan for an excellent model and customer service
I really wanted to love this, but unfortunately there was a defect causing a short and I needed to have it replaced. I was a bit dubious about not being able to speak to a person, but Simon was really professional with email, and actually, the process to return and reserve a replacement was really good. You kept me informed and the defect turned out to be manufacturing fault with a simple trapped wire! The replacement arrived today, and while not the exact same one, there was the option to have mine back, repaired. I stuck with the small yellow panel replacement because it does match my 122 better. Overall, one star off for the inconvenience, but on the whole I’m very impressed with the Heljan process and now more confident about ordering direct. Thank you!
