Detailed Description
The first of BR's heavy Type 5 freight diesels, introduced to cope with an increase in coal traffic after the 1973 oil crisis. The first 30 were built by Electroputere in Romania under sub -contract from Brush, while the rest were constructed by BREL at Doncaster (56031-115) and Crewe (56116-135).
Although they were retired by EWS in 2003, a number have been reactivated for use by freight companies such as Colas and DC Rail.
Our version is based on the later Doncaster and Crewe -built variant.

Absolutely stunning model wat a lovely turned our grid she is, there was a broken buffer loose in the box but barring this i've already started making her in to a fine R/F Metals Canton named beast and the buffer has been fixed back on and is sorted now.
Definately a 5star model the paint finish, the easibility of removing details and the body from the chassis etc.... delivery was next day too super quick" so i'm getting quite addicted now to this bigger scale modelling, cheers again and i shall look forward to my next buy.

What a fantastic model this is, great detail and I've enjoyed adding all the decals.
I've not tested it as yet, due to not having any track. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and I will be buying more in the future. I have just purchased the Shirebrook based shed too.

O gauge at OO gauge prices (almost). My loft floor will need strengthening before the end of the year!
The o gauge Class 56 is very well presented and runs very smoothly.
I did experience a problem with the sand box pipes, which are easily caught and bent or in one case dislodged. During transport, I found that one of the black grille covers caught on a piece of packaging foam and detached, resulting in slight deformation and was difficult to secure back in position.

a great O Gauge model
I’ve only ever purchased an O gauge model once before. But now they are affordable and inviting price point I am sure to purchase more. The model itself is fantastic and I wasn’t disappointed by the levels of detail. I am really looking forward to see what the Heljan/Accurascale bring to this scale.
