The Class 42 was the face of the Western Region in the 1960s. Named after famous Royal Navy vessels, these "Warships" were designed to be lighter and faster than their diesel-electric rivals. Based on the German V200 design, they brought a sense of style and speed to the Cornish Riviera and the Bristolian.
