I really like the revised version of the Heljan Class 86, particularly the 86/0 & 86/4 variants, and I'm really looking forward to the next release of the 86/2. It's well documented that the body is very difficult to remove, I own 5 of the revised run of Heljan Class 86's and each one has proven troublesome to remove but whilst the body is off I add a crew, bulkhead doors, detonators to each end, cab lights and of course DCC sound. The time spent makes the Heljan Class 86 an awesome model that really looks the part.
A lovely model which captures the 'care worn" look of the prototype with the factory weathered finish. Fitting DCC sound was really easy as well and the loco sounds great with a sound matching the appearance. All in all I'm very pleased with it and the price that I paid was the icing on the cake!
Very happy with service. Great price and loyalty discounts etc all made this a delight and pleasure.
I really like Inspection Saloons and this one is fantastic quality and very detailed (including some you can't see without the roof off). I may add some ModelU figures and lighting at some stage.
A beautiful model. Runs exceptionally well as I've come to expect from Heljan.
Keep it coming Heljan.
Excellent model at a competitive price. What's not to like!
The train is very good and runs perfectly very nice quality good price
Looks absolutely stunning and I’ve now fitted it with a new Legomann Biffo sound file. Couldn’t be happier, great product and service
Much improved on the old 47, especially having all the pipework pre fitted. Having the sound is great and at £200 a worthy addition to the fleet
I purchased this Railcar at the same time as my GWR Railcar. This model is slightly better than it. Please see my other review for more details. I feel I have to fit passengers and a driver to this excellent model. When I run it I really feel I am travelling on a 1950's railway line. A slightly eccentric machine but as wonderful as the flying bedstead.
I have owned a Lima Railcar for years. The Heljan model knocks it into a cocked hat. It runs smoothly a quietly in both directions. The paint job and detailing is excellent. The lighting works well in both directions. I have wanted one of these models ever since it was featured in Railway Modeller. The original price we too high for my pocket. This model is worth more than £100.00. Well done Heljan/Accurascale.
Great detail, great value. Thinking of getting another at this price. You cannot see the details until you have the model.
