Valmistettu vuosina 1960–1962, luokan 45 veturit rakennettiin yhteistyössä British Railwaysin Derby Worksin ja Crewe Worksin kanssa, ja ne olivat vakiinnuttaneet asemansa Midland Mainlinen päälinjan vetureina aina vuoteen 1982 saakka, jolloin ne siirtyivät toissijaisiin palveluihin HST-vetureiden käyttöönoton jälkeen.

Bogies need mounting swapped around to give adequate clearance to negotiate any undulating track

Stunning beast of a loco! The weathering is perfect for a slightly worn look. The loco itself is incredibly weighty. Shouldn't have any problem with my long rake of MK1s. I think I'm ging to have to buy another - is 3 greedy?
