LNER O2/4 - BR Zwart (Late Crest) - 63924 - OO Schaal

Well this is the 6th B.R. 02 i have bought of the new batch,like the others,they are better made than the original batch,the new ones though are harder to disconnect the tender from loco than the older models,all the cabs on the locos,very much the GN ones, can be a bit loose,a tiny drop of superglue,at small points sorts that out,i fit a footplate,and regulater in loco,make sure the axles move freely by adjusting base screws,i ditch the dreadful, over the top tender weight,and like my others have fitted TTS sound,and bingo you have a great, powerful,slow running well geared engine. Has to the engine,it is of interest to me,it was the first 02 to be converted to 02/4 in 1943,it was also one of the last 5 surviving 02s after the mass cull of engines in October 1963,and the last working engine built by the G.N. company in 1921,on British Railways. It was taken out of service along with the other 4 on 11/1963,and it was still working coal trains the day before it was withdrawn from its Shed 36E Retford,so ending the 02s,the engines were a great success,all their working lives Strong,Reliable,well liked by crews,thanks Heljan for giving me the chance to own these models of which i saw many of the real ones in my young years.

No real problem here but I must take this opportunity to complain that your customer communication is poor being too reliant on AI for reply issues as well as staff NOT reading order instructions regarding delivery plus being told:

“Remember that order editing, changing, applying discounts, cancellation and more, can all now be achieved using our self-service customer area - just log in at https://heljan.com” This just sends me to Orders showing picture of item ordered!! Plus staff not reading several emails sent relating to this issue but being ‘ fobbed off’ by being told:

“Apologies it looks like the model was dispatched on Sunday, but you are welcome to use the returns portal on the Heljan website to return the model to us”

I have informed several times that I cannot access this portal. If I could have, then I would have cancelled the order before it was sent!!

Doubtful I will get a response here as communication is very poor!

It is a good model sensibly priced

Fantastic model, beautiful runner straight out of the box. No fiddly bits to fit other than the couplings. Now at an affordable price. What's not to like 😊
