Class 45 - O Scale

British Railways Class 45 diesel locomotives, nicknamed “Peaks,” were built between 1960 and 1962 by Derby Works for the London Midland Region of British Railways. Designed for express passenger and heavy freight, they featured Sulzer 12LDA28 engines and a 1Co-Co1 wheel arrangement. Entering service on West Coast and Midland routes, they became synonymous with long-distance passenger trains out of St Pancras, and freight around the midlands. Withdrawn by the late 1980s, several were preserved, celebrating an era of early mainline diesel power and maintain a large enthusiast following today.
