Klasse 47 - BR Großes Logo Blau - 47450 - Spur OO

So for £99 what an absolute bargain this model is. Forget all the well published negative reviews from so called 'expert YouTube reviewers'. Unless you place a scale rule over the model, place it over a scale drawing or sit it side by side with other manufacturers models you will be hard pressed to spot 'the errors'. All models from all manufacturers are a compromise at some point. Placed on the track and coupled to rolling stock and viewed from a normal distance the model looks every bit a Class 47. Out of the box the fit and finish are first class with nothing loose, damaged or missing. The paint and is great with crisp edges and legible printing. Forget the comments regarding the model being 'only four axial drive and light in weight'. Performance is outstanding hauling prototyoical train loads over 2nd radius curves and set track turnouts. For £99, less than a third of other 'high spec' models you really can't go wrong, you have to get one while you can. For £99 I think I will find room and an excuse for more on my layout come my next payday.

This is my second class 47 from Heljan.
I liked my first so much, I bought another.
I'm glad to say this didn't disapoint.
It runs superbly, has a wonderful livery, and the detail on it is fabulous.

Im in no way an expert on trains but I do really like this model, its well detailed and comes in a great mix of liveries. For the price its a bargain!

Classic BR blue at its best.

47450 looks superb in Large Logo blue and really captures the appearance of a Class 47 in its later BR years. Mine is a smooth, reliable runner with strong haulage capability and plenty of fine detail.

The large logo livery is crisply applied and the model has real presence on the layout. Running performance straight from the box has been excellent, with smooth slow-speed control and plenty of pulling power for longer trains.

At the price Heljan were offering these, it was an absolute bargain. A cracking locomotive that looks equally at home on passenger, freight or departmental duties. Highly recommended.

The negative this model has received is unjustified. This is a superbly detailed model with a great weight to it, and such a smooth runner. It's nice to have all the buffer beam details fitted for you too. This will be the first of many purchases' of this class.

This loco was a replacement for a damaged one, but unfortunately this loco also had damage.once again there was an easy return process which I give Heljan due credit for and it appears a monetary refund is in the process. I hope Heljan keep an eye on the quality of the locomotives that are being shipped from China and or at least check them prior to being posted out to customers.

Excellent loco. Good build quality, very heavy, and the running quality is excellent, very quiet, very smooth, speed control is realistic, and you can see the effect of the dual fly wheels when speeding up, or slowing down. Excellent value for money.

This loco of 47450 arrived as a replacement to previous damaged order% unfortunately this loco also received with damage to both ends. Missing and broken hand rail. Not sure if this batch of 47450 are all like this but 2 in a row. Do think the flimsy paper in the box is partly to blame but of course this could have been en route from China.
This model itself is good for the price being sold for.

Unfortunately this model of 47450 arrived with damaged to both buffer beams. But fair play to Heljan(Accurascale) Very easy to start the refund / replacement process. Despite the damage I do give the model itself 5 star for price. But I do think the this paper packaging is not up to the job as the loco box appears to be able to be thrown around in the main box being delivered in.

Heavy loco with big motor and dual fly wheels, at this price point. Love it. Far superior to Railroad models at this price!

The Heljan Class 47 delivers far higher build quality and packaging standards than Hornby Railroad at essentially the same price, making it outstanding value. It isn’t perfect — not every wheel is powered or picking up — but the overall experience more than compensates. The model is big, heavy, smooth‑running and free of traction tyres, which gives it a far more refined feel.

A lot of online criticism feels like nit‑picking for the sake of it. In practice, it looks like a Class 47, has the presence you expect, and the dimensional precision is good enough that any tiny deviations are hard to spot unless you’re actively hunting for them. For anyone who prioritises running qualities, weight, and overall robustness, this is a genuinely impressive model that punches well above its price point.

A good model for the price point, complete with drive to both bogies and directional lights.

Looks lovely, got Hornby chip for this, so looking forward to running it on express passenger trains.

Loco fine now,had to take off the piping front and rear as the piping would not allow the loco to turn on tight angles without derailing.

Have purchased a few locos direct from Heljan recently and all has been fine but with this one, first time on the track, i noticed one of the tail lights wasn't working. I contacted Heljan suppirt straight away and re-boxed the loco, expecting to be asked to send it back, but no they came back asking me to send them a video showing the fault. I did this and re-boxed the loco assuming the next step would be an instruction to send it back, but again no this time they asked me to take the body off and check the wires. I've done this and sent them photos. Still to hear back. This is very very frustrating customer service.
