This OO scale locomotive model delivers exceptional value with smooth, quiet operation and excellent detailing. Customers praise the striking livery, heavy build quality, and strong hauling power. One noted it "runs really well" and is "layout enhancing." Some mention minor issues with coupling mechanisms and loose bogie sides. Despite known accuracy flaws, shoppers call it a "bargain" that "blows competition out of the water."

Despite having to reassemble the bogies (two bogie side covers were detached in the box) this runs beautifully in joth directions out of the box. At £70 with a 30% discount - I've upgraded my rating to 5 stars.

Two bogie side covers were loose in the box and one small (as yet unidentified) part. Also the loco is very oily underneath.
Nice looking model - will reserve final judgement until I run it. Had none of these issues with my other class 47 recently purchased

A great looking model. The livery is crisp. The details are to a high standard. The model runs beautifully both a low and high speed and is very smooth when crawling. Great price too!

Yet another good looking Class 47 in a striking livery that has been well executed by Heljan

A lovely model, really looks the part with parcels or passenger stock of a similar era. The model has fine detailed parts already attached to the bufferbeams, which could potentially obstruct the user fitted NMRA couplings and it would be a shame to lose these details, but I found that by carefully bending the small details slightly, the couplings could be fitted and will give a suitable range of operation for second radius curves. My model runs very smoothly.

Im in no way an expert on trains but I do really like this model, its well detailed and comes in a great mix of liveries. For the price its a bargain!
This is one of 5 i've bought. Very happy.

Excellent loco. Good build quality, very heavy, and the running quality is excellent, very quiet, very smooth, speed control is realistic, and you can see the effect of the dual fly wheels when speeding up, or slowing down. Excellent value for money.

This was an excellent value-for-money purchase. I have been tempted to buy one for some time, but put off by the poor value for money the price point / well documented shoetcomings of the model represented.

This all changed due to the Accurascale take-over. It is a smooth-running, great looking & seemingly well built loco that looks the part: great value for money!

Lovely locomotive, very well finished and an excellent runner straight out of the box. All told a great product which is layout enhancing and really looks the part. Arrived very quickly was well packed and at a great price what is not to like?

A superb addition to any parcels fleet.

The BR Parcels Sector livery is one of the most distinctive liveries carried by the Class 47 and Heljan have reproduced it beautifully. The colours are sharp, the detailing is excellent and the model really stands out on the layout.

Performance has been faultless, with smooth running, good low-speed control and plenty of power for realistic train formations. The model feels substantial and captures the look and presence of the real locomotive very well.

An excellent Class 47 and another great value model from Heljan. Highly recommended for anyone modelling the late BR sectorisation era.

It is very nice model and I want it for a while and the name city of Hereford is my home city and had see it couple of years ago

This model represents great value compared to the competition. It runs beautifully and is very easy to convert to sound (Hornby HM7000). I was pleasantly surprised to find that it came already fitted with two speakers and only required fitting the decoder.
I have experimented with magnetic couplers but found long Kadees to be the most reliable and best looking ( on one end only and with removal of some fitted detail).

amazing detail and such a good price blows hornets railroad out of the water

on analogue, great loco .Only issue is Heljan's coupling mechnism, tension coupling droops ,design fault.
